Why are you running for the Doodle Watch?
To touch on a couple of the objectives for the Doodle Watch, they mention establishing community oversight over the council, and ensuring the community’s voice is heard. Sitting in rainbow hall for the past months/years, I’ve seen how much the community values being heard. In fact, I’d go as far to say that is the number one thing people wanted. Doodle Watch gives the community a chance to have a seat at the table (even if it’s only the bank’s table it’s still a lotta wonga), and I know how important that is.
Doodlebank cannot operate without some form of community oversight: I’ve seen first-hand how DAOs can be inefficient with capital, and it’s important that the community has a chance to evaluate proposals and audit the decisions made by the council.
I love doodles, I love the doodlebank, I love the chance to actually make some difference which up until now has been all but impossible with the doodlebank’s current structure, I love $2k a month
In all seriousness, this revamp of the doodlebank is crucial to ensuring proposals can actually pass, but we cannot lose the bank’s founding principles: community and sustainability. I’ve strived for proposals that are sustainable before in #think-tank, and I am very aware of the importance to put the money in the bank to good, sustainable, ROI generating use. And without community, it isn’t our doodlebank.
